New cage setup
I have already changed Pixie's setup because I found a few things that I thought would look good in her cage. :) Everything is boiled and disinfected with a pet safe spray. I was thinking of maybe removing the toilet paper rolls and stuff, but she seems to like them so I'll leave them in. I'm currently looking for a few small rocks to place around her food dish.

Welcome home, Pixie!
I picked up Pixie today, and she's just sooo adorable! ♡ She was born on New year's eve, so she's only 4 weeks old and super tiny! She's really quick though, and very brave and active. She explored the cage immediately when I put her in it. She has no problems with hands in her cage and she even lets me pet her. :) I will wait until tomorrow to pick her up though. I want her to feel at home first.
Until then, here is a photo bomb of the little princess:

Pixie's cage so far
Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to IKEA because I had been nagging about a Samla bin for quite some time. I went ahead and got one, with the lid (just in case). So here is her cage at the moment - it's obviously missing substrate and stuff like that, which I will go ahead and fill in next week when I'm picking Pixie up. The big bowl is her sand bath. I decided to go with a really big one since I heard that's good for them. I'd rather have it big than small. The thingy on the wooden hide is a toiletpaper roll toy. You're supposed to put treats in it for the hamster. Maybe I'll make a tutorial of it.
The idea is to buy another Samla bin within a few months time and connect the two with a tunnel so she gets double the space! This first bin is going to have a very natural theme while the second will have a pink theme. She is a princess after all ;)

Pink hamster setup
I am buying all the last things I need for Pixie's cage, and I'm mostly having a natural theme (lots of wooden houses, tunnels, etc.), but I'm also going to have a pink theme sometimes. I love pink, and since Pixie's full name is Pixie Princess, she deserves some pink in her life. Here are a few pink hamster things on my wish list:
Some of these things are not for syrians, but are more suitable for dwarf hamsters, but I wish they would come in the right size... I have bought the pink hamster shaped house (just waiting for it to arrive), and I'm going to buy the hamster gym as well as the gnawing kabob. I am also thinking about making my own pink "care fresh", but more about that later. :)
